WINEMAKER PETER VINDING-DIERS’ NOTE : A bright and fresh blend of 80% Syrah, 15% Merlot and 5% Cabernet Franc, 12.5%. Il Piccolo 2021 pours a bright ruby red with violet hues, typical of a youthful Syrah. On the nose, it offers a fresh and inviting bouquet of ripe red fruits, cherry and plum, layered with subtle spice notes of black pepper, bay leaf, and a hint of Mediterranean herbs. On the palate, it’s juicy and smooth, with a medium body and well-balanced structure. The tannins are soft and well-integrated, while the lively acidity gives the wine a pleasant energy and length. The Merlot brings roundness and softness, while the touch of Cabernet Franc adds delicate floral tones and a light herbal nuance that lifts the finish. Il Piccolo Rosso is usually made from the left over wines which somehow did not fit into any of the main blends. It is fresh with good fruit and just the right of wood support.
