A wine first made in 2017 by Marco and Tiziana Parusso as a tribute to their father, Armando, and to celebrate the 50th anniversary of his first vintage. The 2021 is a blend of the estate's vineyards, approximately 50% Bussia, 25% Mosconi and 25% Mariondino. Low intervention winemaking, with wild yeast ferments, no sulphites added in fermentation, 30–40 days on the skins. 100% whole bunches that rested for three days before being fermented. Aged in 60% new oak, the rest in two-year-old barriques. IAN D’AGATA WINE REVIEW 93+: Violet and spicy red fruit dominate on the fresh nose and palate. Very long and clean on the energetic finish. Lots of wine for the money here, plus this has the added advantage of being relatively approachable and ready to drink now. Drink 2028-2040.

WALTER SPELLER in JANCIS ROBINSON 17/20: Lustrous mid ruby with bricky rim. Exotic nose – lifted, vigorous. Cherry, maracuja, Earl Grey tea, exotic spice and oak. Suave cherry and maracuja fruit layer on gravelly, firm tannins. Can be approached, but ideally needs more bottle age. Drink 2026-2032.
