2023 Cantina Parusso Langhe Nebbiolo Ël Sartù

A lovely wine, perfect entry into to the wines of Marco Parusso. Made from Nebbiolo grapes grown in the hills around Monforte d'Alba. Wild yeast ferments, no sulphites added during vinification and only gentle maceration and temperature control during fermentation. The wine spends a few months aging in oak barrels before bottling. The best vineyards for Nebbiolo around Monforte d'Alba belonged to the tailor of the village, known in Piedmontese dialect as "ËL SARTÙ". MONICA LARNER in ROBERT PARKER 91: Opening to a medium-ruby color, the Parusso 2023 Langhe Nebbiolo Ël Sartù shows bright primary fruit with a focus on cherry and blackcurrant. Those fruit aromas are followed by tarry spice and smoke, but primary aromas take the leading role.
