I DREAM OF BEAUJOLAIS – 3 bottles
A selection of Beaujolais crus from Château des Moriers, a family-run estate since 1850. The wines are made by Gilles Monrozier with the help of his brother Michel and his daughter Anne-Victoire.
Château des Moriers Fleurie 2015
From a special terroir in Fleurie, 2015 was a massive vintage, lots of fruit and structure, and built to last. An easy match for grilled lamb chops.
Château des Moriers Moulin-à-Vent 2013
Moulin-à-Vent is considered the King of the 10 Crus of Beaujolais. This 2013 is drinking beautifully now with a similar profile to an old Bordeaux. Very elegant. Simply best enjoyed lightly chilled with a ham and cheese sandwich or quiche.
Château des Moriers Fleurie La Brirette 2014From a slope called La Brirette, this special site borders Moulin-à-Vent. 2014 is a lovely vintage with precocious and approachable wines. Expect lots of depth and spice and great elegance on the finish. Serve on its own or with a rich pasta or game.
