JANE EYRE’S NOTE: I started working with this appellation in 2014. This wine is usually a blend of 2 parcels located in Comblanchien and Corgoloin which are owned by the same grower. However, this year I obtained fruit from another parcel in Corgoloin, situated less than 100 metres from the other parcel. The fruit from these parcels works extremely well with a higher percentage of whole clusters and, since 2019, I have fermented a portion with 100% whole bunches. The final percentage this year is approximately 50%. Aged mostly in 300L barrels and 1 new 500L barrel. The wine was bottled at the end of July 2024. Garnet in colour with a wonderfully aromatic nose consisting of bright fruit with hints of spice. The palate has loads of red summer fruit coupled with spice and cedar notes coming from the new barrel and finishing with fine tannins. This wine always over delivers. Enjoy now until 2035. 316 CASES PRODUCED. JASPER MORRIS MW - SCORE 3 STARS & 88: A fresh purple of no great concentration. A very pretty fragrant light floral pinot nose. If you want something light and flavoursome spring and early summer, this will do the trick. Quite a persistent finish despite the lesser fruit weight. Drink from 2026-2029. JANCIS ROBINSON 16.5+/20: Three parcels in Corgoloin and Comblanchien. 40% whole bunch in one tank and 90% in the other, just to see the difference. One new 500-litre barrel.Pale red, more like a deep rosé. Stony/stemmy freshness, pared back to a minimalist wine but with a core of fruit sweetness. Very fine, silky tannins. Approachable but can only get better. (Julia Harding MW).
